Misprint/Artist’s Proof of “The Unknown”

This item will be a misprint or an artist’s proof of the relief print “The Unknown”. This is an original block print, hand-carved and hand-printed by me. These prints were either the tests before I started making the edition (artists proofs) or prints with minor flaws (misprints) so they didn’t make it into the final edition. The images show some of the discrepancies in the prints, such as heavier ink in some areas, incorrect paper sizing, or spotty, lighter prints.

These prints are printed on high-quality printmaking paper using black ink and they are hand-printed by me. The size of the paper is approximately 6”x8” and the linoleum block was 5”x6” so there is a 1” border around the top and bottom and a 0.5” border on the sides. Each print has the title, either MP for misprint or AP for artist proof, my signature, and the year it was made at the bottom.
